The Patient Incentive Program (PIP) program provides drug treatment (methadone) in a harm reduction model of care. The program offers non financial incentives for progress. The program combines of methadone maintenance/detox,supported by individual, and group counseling sessions.

What Does the Patient Incentive Program Consist of?
· Monthly Individual Counseling

· Weekly Group Counseling Sessions Featuring Topics Such As:

Drug Education    
Relapse Prevention
Life Skills
HIV/Hepatitis Education
Sex Education
Holistic Health Recovery Program (HHRP)
Gender Specific Groups
Methadone Maintenance (Up to 2 years of treatment)

· Psychiatric Services

· Medical Services


Clients participate in one 2 hour group session per week for 12 weeks. Clients attend one risk reduction group session and one drug education group session per week.

Holistic Health Recovery Program Groups:

Clients also participate in the Methadone Maintenance Program.
Medication (Methadone) is dispensed Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 1:30 PM, and Saturdays from 6am -12pm.

Who is Eligible?
·  Men and Women 18 years of age and over who are injecting heroin users, do not have any insurance including medicaid.

·  Those not currently in drug treatment

·  Those unemployed/underemployed or in a financial hardship determined by financial evaluation.

· Those who do not have Medicaid, Work First, NJ Family Care or private insurance that covers substance abuse treatment.


What is the cost?
· There is no cost to those who meet the eligibility criteria.
