SERVICES
Methadone
Detoxification - is the dispensing of methadone in decreasing
dosage to eliminate the adverse effects of withdrawal and to bring
the individual to an opiate drug-free state within a specific period
of time. Short Term Detox will not exceed 30 days, while long-term
will not exceed 180 days.
Methadone
Maintenance - is considered one of the most valuable
interventions in the treatment of chronic opiate addiction. The
desired result of Methadone is to eliminate the euphoric appeal
of heroin and the abstinence symptoms to permit the patient to fully
participate in treatment. The treatment objectives of Methadone
Maintenance are: to provide a network for access to comprehensive
medical care; to integrate HIV/AIDS related services and harm reduction
into the treatment process; skills development to include parenting
and vocational skills; to encourage participation in self-help groups
such as AA/NA; and to provide Methadone doses that are consistent
in producing the desired result.
Traditional
Outpatient and Countermeasures - (Adolescent and Adult)
is the least intensive approach designed for participants who do
not exhibit severe levels of addiction and have established support
systems. The primary mode of treatment is group counseling.
